Digi International has entered into an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Norwegian technology company Disruptive Technologies (DT) for USD 130 million. The acquisition will strengthen Digi’s SmartSense platform while giving DT’s sensor technology access to a significantly larger global market.
Disruptive Technologies has developed ultra-small, low-power sensors with a battery life of up to 15 years, with more than 250,000 sensors already deployed. The technology is used for applications including temperature monitoring in food and healthcare, as well as building automation and occupancy. Through Digi’s global distribution network, DT’s technology will be able to reach a much broader international market, while Digi intends to continue investing in DT’s leading technology team in Norway. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close before the end of 2026.
